Charity Support

Prostate Cymru

Annually throughout the UK men’s prostate cancer claims 11,000 lives, with up to 32,000 new cases diagnosed. They are rare in men under 50, but the condition becomes more pronounced and common with age. Let’s make a difference together.

This is why Stephenson are going to be entering a team in to Prostate Cymru's "The Big Walk" this year. A 26 mile long trek along the southern end of Wales hopefully with some nice weather in tow. Best of luck everyone.

Mrs Downs Boys Golf Day

This charity is an important one to the staff here, so it was no question as to supporting them for the 2nd year running. They are a wonderful group of people who raise money for Dorothy House and Bath Hospital Cancer Care Unit who cared for Mrs Down, a close family member and friend to several here.

We will be sending another team to the golf day which is arranged for May 2019, hopefully with some luck on their side.

Circus Starr Donation

Circus Starr are a fantastic charity and performance group that provide over £1.3 million worth of free tickets to disadvantaged, disabled, and otherwise vulnerable children.

This is only made possible by the donations from businesses in the area, and we're delighted to support the charity again, doubling our donation from last year allowing 20 children to go to various events.

Midland Road Food Bank

From the Watkin Jones correspondence about the donation.

"A fantastic well done to the Russell Franklin, Mike Skinner & the team at Midland Road, Bath for the outstanding donation to the Bath Food Bank. Peter Cottell came along to Midland Road to receive the donation. The food bank helps families in crisis, whether that be a family awaiting a benefit claim, or sickness befalling the main money earner, or a bereavement within a family."

"We would like to say a massive ‘Thank You’ to our sub-contractors who very generously donated to this worthwhile cause – Thanks to Hazelwood Carpentry, Stephenson Construction (Southern) Ltd, and  J H Shouksmiths & Sons Ltd."

MNDA Charity Walk

Over a weekend in August our Managing Director, Toby Hemsley, completed a 100Km Endurance walk in the aid of the Motor Neurone Disease Association.

Toby completed the 114Km walk in an impressive 23 hours and 10 Minutes, and was one of 7 (out of over 70 walkers) that managed to complete the challenge.

The target for fundraising was set at £8,500, a target that was handily broken, with the total ending at £11,600.

Well done to Toby!

Trailwalker 2017

100Km and 2 moutains, both within 28 hours? No thanks...

But that's not what one of our Senior Quantity Serveyors, David Lord, said. He and 3 others took on the Trailwalker challenge, all in aid of Oxfam and The Gurkha Welfare Trust.

Despite many challenges the team completed the task with 2 hours to spare and raised over £2000 for the charities who set up this challenge.

A fantastic effort by the team for a fantastic cause.
